Buy extra AI credits

AI Credits power Creative Hub AI generation (images, videos, voiceover, avatars) and Wavo's heavier actions. Each plan includes a weekly credit grant (the grant expires weekly; every plan, including Free, gets one). If you exhaust the balance, lightweight Wavo chat still works β€” heavy generation is gated until the next weekly grant or you buy a top-up package via /settings/team/billing β†’ AI Credits. Purchased top-up credits do not expire.

Who is this for

Admins and creatives who exhaust the weekly AI Credits grant and need more β€” either as a one-off (campaign launch week) or as a recurring need.

What AI Credits cover

Credits are deducted when you trigger AI work that costs the system to run:

ActionWhereCredit cost
Generate an ad image (text-to-image)Creative Hub β†’ Generate β†’ Imagesmall
Generate an ad video (text-to-video)Creative Hub β†’ Generate β†’ Videomedium-large
Generate a UGC avatar video (script-to-talking-head)Creative Hub β†’ Generate β†’ Avatarlarge
Generate a voiceover (text-to-speech)Creative Hub β†’ Generate β†’ Voiceoversmall
Wavo deep analysis (multi-step)Wavo chatsmall-medium
Wavo action with deep contextWavo chatsmall
Lightweight Wavo chat ("how do I X?")Wavo chatfree

The exact cost per action shows as an estimate before you trigger generation. You can always cancel before confirming.

Where to check your balance

Open Settings β†’ Team β†’ Billing β†’ AI Credits. You see:

  • Weekly grant: your plan's weekly credit allowance
  • Used this period: how much has been consumed
  • Remaining: what's still available
  • Resets on: the next weekly grant date

The weekly grant is a real deposited, weekly-expiring balance β€” unused grant credits don't roll over to the next week. Separately purchased top-up credits do not expire and are used alongside your grant.

How to top up

Option A: in-app topup (if available)

Top-ups are available on all tiers (including Free):

  1. Open /settings/team/billing β†’ AI Credits
  2. Click Buy more credits
  3. Choose a package β€” starter (5,000 credits), standard (20,000), or pro (50,000)
  4. Confirm β€” Stripe charges immediately
  5. Credits added to your balance instantly (these purchased credits do not expire)

The top-up is a one-time add-on charge separate from your subscription, billed via your default payment method.

You can also enable auto-recharge: set a low-balance threshold and a package, and Wevion automatically buys that package (up to a monthly cap you set) when your balance drops below the threshold.

Option B: contact sales (always available)

If in-app topup isn't surfaced on your plan, or you need a custom amount:

  • Email sales@wevion.ai
  • Specify how many credits you need and the timeframe
  • Sales arranges a one-off or recurring credit grant

This is the typical route for Enterprise customers and for large one-off needs.

When credits run out mid-month

If you exhaust the pool:

  • Lightweight Wavo chat: keeps working (answers questions, search, navigation)
  • Heavy Wavo actions: blocked until top-up or the next weekly grant
  • Creative Hub AI generation: blocked until top-up or the next weekly grant
  • Already-generated assets: stay in Creative Hub and remain usable β€” credits aren't recurring per use, only per generation
  • Manual upload: not affected β€” you can still upload your own creatives and use them

The system shows a clear modal: "AI Credits exhausted β€” top up or wait until [next weekly grant date]".

How much do I need?

A rough sizing guide:

Usage patternRecommended monthly budget
Light: 5-10 generated images per monthDefault Starter pool
Medium: 50+ images + 5-10 videosPro pool
Heavy: 100+ generations across image/video/avatarEnterprise / custom topups

Most teams discover their pattern within the first 1-2 months. Adjust by upgrading plan or budgeting topups accordingly.

Avoiding wasted credits

Best practices to stretch your AI Credits budget:

  • Be specific in prompts: vague prompts β†’ mediocre outputs β†’ regenerations
  • Pre-write your script: avoid trial-and-error on voiceover / avatar
  • Use the cost preview: never trigger a generation without checking the estimated cost first
  • Reuse generated assets: Creative Hub stores everything β€” no need to regenerate similar creatives
  • Lightweight chat is free: ask Wavo "what should I generate?" before generating

Enterprise custom credits

Enterprise plans usually have a custom credit allocation negotiated as part of the contract:

  • Often a fixed monthly grant (e.g. 5Γ—, 10Γ— the Pro pool)
  • One-off topups via your CSM
  • Sometimes a usage-based pricing model
  • Unused credits behavior depends on contract

Contact your CSM for changes or check /settings/team/billing β†’ AI Credits β†’ Contract details.

What you'll see after a topup

  • AI Credits balance increases by the purchased amount immediately
  • Confirmation toast: "Credits added"
  • An invoice line item appears in /settings/team/billing β†’ Invoices
  • An email confirmation from Stripe

Common issues

  • "Buy more credits button missing": in-app topup may not be enabled for your plan. Contact sales@wevion.ai for a manual grant.
  • "Generation failed but credits deducted": rare β€” Wevion auto-refunds the credits within 60 seconds for failed generations. If not, contact support.
  • "AI Credits show 0 right after the weekly grant": brief delay after the Monday grant deposit. Refresh after 60 seconds.
  • "Bought credits but balance not updated": webhook delay. Refresh; if still wrong after 5 min, contact support.
  • "Grant credits changed after I downgraded": your weekly grant reflects the new plan from the next weekly deposit. Purchased top-up credits do not expire and are unaffected by a plan change.

FAQ

What do Wevion AI Credits pay for?

AI Credits power Creative Hub AI generation in Wevion β€” images, videos, avatars, and voiceovers β€” plus Wavo's heavier actions like deep multi-step analysis. Lightweight Wavo chat, such as asking "how do I X?", is free and never consumes credits. Each action shows an estimated cost before you trigger it, so you can cancel before confirming.

How do I buy extra AI credits in Wevion?

Open /settings/team/billing β†’ AI Credits, click Buy more credits, choose a package (starter 5,000 / standard 20,000 / pro 50,000), and confirm β€” Stripe charges immediately and the balance updates instantly. Top-ups are available on all tiers including Free, and purchased credits do not expire. You can also enable auto-recharge to buy a package automatically when your balance drops below a threshold. For large or custom needs, email sales@wevion.ai.

Do unused Wevion AI Credits roll over?

Your weekly grant doesn't roll over β€” it's a weekly-expiring balance, so unused grant credits are lost when the next weekly grant is deposited. Separately purchased top-up credits do not expire and carry over. You can check your weekly grant, used amount, remaining balance, and next-grant date under Settings β†’ Team β†’ Billing β†’ AI Credits.

What happens when my AI Credits run out mid-week?

Lightweight Wavo chat keeps working, but heavy Wavo actions and Creative Hub AI generation are blocked until you top up or the next weekly grant is deposited. Already-generated assets stay in Creative Hub and remain usable, and manual uploads are unaffected. Wevion shows a modal offering to top up or wait until the next weekly grant.

Are credits refunded if a generation fails?

Yes. If a Creative Hub generation fails but credits were deducted, Wevion auto-refunds those credits within 60 seconds. If the refund doesn't appear, contact support. Note that a genuinely successful generation is not refundable, since credits are charged per generation, not per use of the resulting asset.
