Delete your Wevion account
Account deletion is permanent data erasure, distinct from cancellation. It's self-serve: from the danger zone you type DELETE and confirm with your password (
POST /api/v1/team/delete), which schedules the team and all members for deletion after a 30-day grace period. You can undo it during that window with Cancel deletion (POST /api/v1/team/cancel-deletion). No support email is required. Deletion is GDPR-aligned and, once the grace period passes, irreversible.
Who is this for
Workspace owners who want to permanently remove all data from Wevion β for compliance, brand exit, or just clean-out. Also for anyone confused about the difference between "cancel" and "delete".
Cancel vs Delete β important distinction
If you just want to stop paying, cancel is enough β automatic deletion follows 30 days later if you don't reactivate.
If you need immediate permanent erasure (legal hold release, brand exit, compliance with a Right to Erasure request), request deletion.
What gets deleted
- The workspace entity
- All ad data: campaigns, ad sets, ads, creatives, audiences
- Performance data: insights, analytics history
- Connected ad accounts' linkage (the accounts themselves stay on Meta/Google/TikTok β Wevion just disconnects)
- Rules engine configurations
- Creative Hub assets (uploaded files + AI generations)
- Wavo conversation history
- Custom integrations (Telegram bot pairings, custom audiences)
- Team membership records (members removed from the workspace; if they're in other workspaces, those remain)
- Invitation history
- Webhooks and API tokens
What is NOT deleted (legal hold)
Some records must be retained for legal/tax/audit reasons (support can explain the exact retention periods and the legal basis for each on request):
- Invoices: retained for tax compliance per applicable law
- Payment records on Stripe: retained per Stripe's policy
- Audit logs: retained per the audit retention policy
- Anonymized aggregate metrics: usage statistics may be retained anonymized (not linked to you)
- Backup snapshots: standard backups may retain copies until their rotation completes post-deletion
If you have specific legal requirements (e.g. complete erasure including invoices), discuss with support β some retention is regulatory and not waivable, but we'll explain exactly what's retained and why.
How to delete (self-serve)
Step 1 (recommended): Cancel your subscription first
Follow cancel your subscription to stop billing. Deletion itself does not cancel your subscription, so cancel first to avoid further charges. You can also schedule deletion while on trial or already canceled.
Step 2: Open the danger zone and confirm
In the team settings danger zone, choose to delete the team/account. Wevion requires:
- Typing
DELETEexactly as confirmation - Your password (owners with a local credential must re-enter it; SSO-only owners authenticate via their session)
This calls POST /api/v1/team/delete. It's the self-serve equivalent of the old "email support" flow β no support ticket needed.
Step 3: 30-day grace period
On confirmation, the team and all its members are scheduled for deletion 30 days out. During those 30 days:
- The account is marked for deletion (a deletion date is set)
- You can still change your mind
Step 4: Change your mind (optional)
To stop a scheduled deletion within the grace period, use Cancel deletion (POST /api/v1/team/cancel-deletion). This clears the scheduled deletion and keeps the account.
Step 5: Deletion executes
After the 30-day grace period passes without a cancel:
- The workspace and all data are permanently deleted from Wevion's primary databases
- Standard backup retention still applies (backups purge on their own rotation)
For special cases (urgent compliance erasure, custom DPA terms on Enterprise), contact support β but routine deletion is fully self-serve.
GDPR right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
If you're an EU/EEA resident or your company is processed by Wevion under GDPR:
- You have the legal right to request erasure of personal data
- Wevion processes valid requests within 30 days (legally mandated maximum)
- Wevion will explain any data that must be retained (e.g. invoices for tax compliance) and the legal basis for retention
- See our DPA (Data Processing Agreement) at
wevion.ai/legal/dpafor full details
The deletion request flow above satisfies GDPR Article 17 requirements.
What you'll see after deletion
- Cannot log in to the deleted workspace (URL returns 404 or "Workspace not found")
- Your personal user account survives if you're a member of other workspaces; otherwise it's also deleted
- Any old exports or local copies you saved are not affected (those are yours)
- Past invoices remain accessible via Stripe Customer Portal (Wevion no longer surfaces them)
What about my personal Wevion account?
If you're a member of multiple workspaces:
- Deleting a workspace removes that workspace only
- Your personal account stays active; you can still log in to other workspaces
- To delete your personal account entirely (you're a member of no workspaces), email support β same flow as above
Common questions
- "Can I export my data first?": Yes β before requesting deletion, export reports, audit logs, creative assets, anything you need. Use Settings β Team β Export data if available, or contact support for a bulk export.
- "What about my published ads on Meta / Google?": Untouched. Those live on the ad platforms. Deleting Wevion only removes Wevion's records.
- "Can I delete just a workspace, not my account?": Yes β that's the typical case. The request specifies which workspace.
- "Can I un-delete?": Yes, but only during the 30-day grace period β use Cancel deletion. After the grace period passes, deletion is permanent.
- "How long until I'm completely gone from all backups?": Backups purge on their own rotation after deletion; after that, no copies exist in Wevion's systems.
- "Does deletion stop Stripe charges?": No β deletion alone doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel first, then delete.
FAQ
What's the difference between canceling and deleting a Wevion account?
Canceling stops billing and shifts your workspace to read-only at period end, keeping data for 30 days before automatic deletion. Deleting is self-serve (type DELETE and confirm with your password) and schedules permanent erasure after a 30-day grace period, reversible via Cancel deletion until then. If you only want to stop paying, canceling is enough; use delete when you want permanent erasure.
How do I delete my Wevion account?
Cancel your subscription first to stop billing, then in the team settings danger zone confirm deletion by typing DELETE and entering your password (POST /api/v1/team/delete). This schedules the team and all members for deletion after a 30-day grace period β no support email is required. You can undo it during the grace period with Cancel deletion.
Is Wevion account deletion reversible?
It's reversible during the grace period only. After you confirm deletion, the account is scheduled for erasure 30 days out; you can stop it any time in that window using Cancel deletion (POST /api/v1/team/cancel-deletion). Once the 30-day grace period passes without a cancel, deletion proceeds and cannot be undone.
What data does Wevion retain after deletion?
Some records must be kept for legal, tax, and audit reasons: invoices for tax compliance, payment records on Stripe per Stripe's policy, audit logs per the retention policy, anonymized aggregate metrics, and standard backup snapshots until backup rotation completes. Support can explain exactly what's retained, the retention period, and the legal basis for it.
Are my published ads on Meta or Google deleted too?
No. Your published ads live on the ad platforms themselves and are untouched. Deleting your Wevion account only removes Wevion's records and disconnects the ad accounts β the accounts stay on Meta, Google, and TikTok. Before deleting, you can export reports, audit logs, and creative assets, or ask support for a bulk export.
