Catalogs hold your product feed. Wevion imports them from connected ad accounts. Use them for dynamic ads and retargeting.

Product catalog basics for e-commerce flows

A catalog is a feed of your products with IDs, titles, prices, images, and URLs. Wevion imports catalogs from connected ad accounts automatically. You use them to run dynamic ads that show the right product to the right person.

Who is this for

E-commerce media buyers who plan to run product-feed-based campaigns (dynamic retargeting, Shopping ads, catalog-aware lookalikes). If you only run lead-gen or awareness campaigns, you can skip this article for now.

What's in a catalog

A catalog is a structured list of products. Each product is one row with at least:

FieldExample
idSKU-12345
title"Wool runner shoe, charcoal"
description"Comfortable everyday shoe..."
price89.00 EUR
image_linkhttps://store.com/img/wool-runner.jpg
linkhttps://store.com/products/wool-runner
availabilityin stock
brand"Acme Footwear"

Optional fields add richness: sale_price, color, size, gtin, product_type (category). Each ad platform supports slightly different optional fields β€” Wevion respects whatever the source platform provides.

How catalogs reach Wevion

You don't upload catalogs to Wevion directly. Catalogs are created and maintained on the ad platform side (Meta Commerce Manager, Google Merchant Center, TikTok Catalog Manager) and Wevion reads them via the connected ad account.

The most common ways catalogs get populated:

SourceHow
ShopifyAuto-syncs to Meta / Google / TikTok via official integrations
WooCommercePlugin pushes product feed to platforms
Custom feed URLYou host a .xml or .csv and the platform pulls it on schedule
ManualUpload .csv once in the platform's commerce manager

After the next Wevion sync, the catalog appears at /catalogs. Same name, same product count, same product detail.

Product sets β€” subsets of a catalog

A Product Set is a filtered subset of a catalog used to target specific products in a campaign. Examples:

  • All products under €50
  • All products tagged summer-2026
  • All products in stock with image
  • Top-30 best sellers (auto-updated)

Product Sets are created on the platform side (same as catalogs). Wevion shows them at /catalogs/{catalogId}/sets.

Where catalogs and product sets matter

You'll see them in two places in Wevion:

In Campaign Creator

When you pick Sales or Catalog Sales as the campaign objective, the form asks for:

  • Catalog β€” pick from the dropdown
  • Product set β€” narrow to a subset (default: all products)
  • Optimization event β€” usually Purchase (requires a pixel firing purchase events)

This unlocks Dynamic Ads: the ad creative dynamically pulls product info from the catalog at delivery time. One ad can show 1.000 different products to 1.000 different shoppers.

In Audiences (retargeting)

Catalog + pixel + audience = dynamic retargeting. Wevion can build audiences like "people who viewed a product but didn't buy" automatically using the pixel events (ViewContent, AddToCart, Purchase) linked to catalog product IDs.

Verifying a catalog works

Open /catalogs, click any catalog row. The detail drawer shows:

  • Product count β€” matches what's in the platform's catalog manager
  • Last sync β€” should be within 24 hours
  • Health score β€” % of products with all required fields filled
  • Issues β€” products missing image, price, or link

A score below 90% usually means broken images or missing prices. Fix those at the source (Shopify product, Merchant Center feed) β€” Wevion only displays the state, it doesn't edit catalogs.

What you'll see

A healthy catalog one day after setup:

  • Visible at /catalogs with the correct product count
  • Health score 95%+
  • At least 1 product set listed (the default "all products" set if you didn't create custom ones)
  • Available as a target in Campaign Creator β†’ Sales objective

Common issues

  • Catalog not showing in Wevion: confirm the catalog is assigned to the ad account you connected. Catalogs at Business Manager level may not be visible until shared with the specific ad account.
  • Health score < 80%: most likely missing images. Open the issues tab to see exact product IDs and fix at source.
  • Product count mismatch: Wevion shows the catalog's currently-active product count. Out-of-stock items can be hidden depending on platform settings.
  • Product set empty: the filter rule no longer matches any products. Edit the rule at the platform side.

FAQ

Can I upload a product catalog directly to Wevion?

No. You don't upload catalogs to Wevion directly. Catalogs are created and maintained on the ad platform side β€” Meta Commerce Manager, Google Merchant Center, or TikTok Catalog Manager β€” and Wevion reads them via the connected ad account. After the next sync, the catalog appears at /catalogs with the same name, product count, and product detail.

What is a product set in Wevion?

A product set is a filtered subset of a catalog used to target specific products in a campaign β€” for example, all products under €50, everything tagged summer-2026, or the top-30 best sellers. Product sets are created on the platform side like catalogs, and Wevion displays them at /catalogs/{catalogId}/sets so you can pick one when building a campaign.

Where do catalogs matter inside Wevion?

Catalogs appear in two places in Wevion. In Campaign Creator, picking the Sales or Catalog Sales objective lets you choose a catalog, a product set, and an optimization event to run Dynamic Ads that pull product info at delivery time. In Audiences, a catalog plus pixel plus audience powers dynamic retargeting like "viewed a product but didn't buy."

How do I check that a catalog is healthy in Wevion?

Open /catalogs and click a catalog row to see the detail drawer: product count (matching the platform's manager), last sync (should be within 24 hours), a health score showing the percentage of products with all required fields, and an issues list. A score below 90% usually means broken images or missing prices β€” fix those at the source, since Wevion only displays catalog state.

Do I need catalogs if I only run lead-gen ads?

No. Product catalogs matter for e-commerce media buyers running product-feed campaigns like dynamic retargeting, Shopping ads, and catalog-aware lookalikes. If you only run lead-gen or awareness campaigns, you can skip catalogs for now. Wevion still imports any catalogs assigned to your connected ad account, but they aren't required for non-catalog objectives.
