Connecting Your Meta (Facebook) Account

Last updated: April 18, 2026

Wevion needs permission to access your ad accounts, pages, and other assets. This happens through a secure connection using Meta's official authorization flow. The process takes about 60 seconds.

Prerequisites

  • An Wevion account with an active subscription.

  • A Facebook account with admin access to at least one Meta Business Manager.

  • The ad accounts, pages, and pixels you want to manage must already exist inside your Business Manager on Meta's side.

  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge). Pop-up blockers should not interfere, as the authorization opens in the same tab.

How It Works

When you connect your Meta account, three things happen behind the scenes:

  1. Authorization — You are temporarily redirected to Facebook, where you log in (if not already) and approve Wevion's access. Facebook issues a secure token that proves you gave consent.

  2. Token upgrade — Wevion automatically exchanges this short-term token for a long-lived token that lasts approximately 60 days. This means you do not need to reconnect every few hours.

  3. Asset discovery — Wevion detects every Business Manager your Facebook account has access to, then imports all associated ad accounts, fan pages, pixels, and catalogs.

Your Facebook password is never shared with Wevion. The entire process uses Meta's official OAuth protocol, the same technology used by every major advertising platform that integrates with Facebook.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Navigate to Meta Users

From the left sidebar, click Assets > Meta Users. You can also reach this from the Setup Checklist on your dashboard.

Step 2: Click Connect

Click Connect in the top-right area. A dialog offers two options: Connect Meta Account (redirects to Facebook) or Copy Link (to share the authorization URL with a colleague).

Step 3: Authorize Wevion on Facebook

Facebook asks you to select which Business Managers to share and which permissions to grant. All permissions are required for full functionality. Review and click Continue.

Tip: Make sure you are logged into the correct Facebook profile before authorizing.

Step 4: Wait for Asset Sync

After authorization, Wevion shows a success confirmation and immediately begins importing your assets: Meta Users, Ad Accounts, Fan Pages, Pixels, and Catalogs. The sync completes within 30-90 seconds.

Step 5: Verify Your Connection

Navigate to Meta Users to confirm your account shows a green Active status. Check Ad Accounts, Pages, Pixels, and Catalogs in the sidebar to verify all assets imported. If anything is missing, click Refresh to trigger a manual re-sync.

What Gets Synced

Wevion imports from every accessible Business Manager: Meta Users (name, email, role), Ad Accounts (name, ID, currency, timezone, status), Fan Pages (name, ID), Pixels (name, ID, domain), and Catalogs (name, ID, product count). A background job keeps these in sync automatically.

Permissions Explained

Facebook shows the permissions Wevion is requesting. Key permissions include: Email (account identification), Manage/Read your ads (campaign management and analytics), Business Management (asset discovery), Page permissions (fan page import and ads), Instagram permissions (Instagram placements and insights), Read Insights (analytics dashboards), and Catalog Management (dynamic product ads).

All permissions are essential. Declining any may result in limited functionality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I connect multiple Meta accounts? Yes. Each becomes a separate entry in Meta Users. Common for agencies managing multiple clients.

What happens if my token expires? Wevion refreshes tokens automatically twice a day. If a token expires (e.g., password change), reconnect via Connect Meta Account.

Can I disconnect a Meta account? Yes. Select the account on Meta Users and click Remove. Your data on Meta is not affected.

No ad accounts appeared after connecting. What should I do? Ensure your Facebook account has admin access to the Business Manager. Try the Refresh button. Check that you did not deselect Business Managers during authorization.

Can I connect using a System User token? Yes. Use the Add Token option on the Meta Users page to paste a System User token and Business Manager ID directly.

Is my Facebook password stored by Wevion? No. Wevion uses Meta's OAuth protocol and never sees your password.

Can I share the connection link? Yes. Use Copy Link in the Connect dialog to send the authorization URL to a colleague or client.
