Creating AI Avatars (UGC Videos)

Last updated: April 18, 2026

AI Avatars let you generate UGC-style spokesperson videos directly inside Wevion. Instead of hiring actors, booking studios, and managing production timelines, you write a script and an AI-generated digital human delivers it on camera. The result is a realistic talking-head video that you can use as a standalone ad creative or combine with other assets in your campaigns.

UGC (User Generated Content) style ads consistently outperform polished brand videos on Meta platforms. They feel authentic, personal, and native to the feed. The problem has always been scale: producing enough variations to test hooks, angles, and audiences requires either a large creator network or significant production budget. AI Avatars solve this by letting you generate as many variations as you need, in minutes rather than days, at a fraction of the cost.

Whether you need a quick spokesperson intro for a product, a testimonial-style video for split testing, or localized versions of the same script in different languages, Avatars give you the flexibility to iterate fast and keep your creative pipeline full.

Prerequisites

Before generating avatar videos, make sure you have:

  • An active Wevion account with a valid subscription
  • At least Media Buyer role or higher in your team
  • Sufficient AI credits in your account balance (avatar videos consume credits based on duration)
  • A prepared script for the avatar to speak

No additional software, plugins, or third-party accounts are required. Wevion handles the AI generation, rendering, and storage entirely behind the scenes.

Understanding AI Credits

Accessing the Avatar Generator

  1. From any page in Wevion, locate the Creative Hub section in the left sidebar
  2. Open Creative Hub and navigate to the folder where you want to save your generated video (or stay in the root folder)
  3. Click the magic wand icon (Generate Creative) in the toolbar area
📸 Creative Hub toolbar with the magic wand (Generate Creative) button highlighted
  1. In the generation modal that opens, you will see a tab sidebar on the left with four options: AI Video, Avatar, Voice, and Assemble
  2. Click the Avatar tab
📸 Generate Creative modal showing the Avatar tab selected in the left sidebar, with the script textarea and avatar/voice fields visible

You are now in the Avatar generator, ready to configure and create your UGC video.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 -- Write Your Script

The Script field is the main input for your avatar video. This is the exact text that the AI avatar will speak on camera.

  • Type or paste your script into the textarea
  • Scripts can be up to 5,000 characters long
  • The avatar will speak the text naturally, including pauses at punctuation marks (periods, commas, ellipses)
📸 Script textarea filled with a sample product testimonial script, approximately 150 words

Step 2 -- Select an Avatar

Enter the Avatar ID in the Select Avatar text field to choose which digital human will appear in your video.

  • If you leave the avatar field empty, the default avatar (Angela) is used
  • Multiple pre-built avatars are available, representing diverse appearances and styles
  • Each avatar has a distinct appearance, clothing, and background setting

Step 3 -- Choose a Voice

The Select Voice field determines how the avatar sounds when speaking your script.

  • If you leave the voice field empty, a default English voice will be used
  • Choose from a selection of voices with different characteristics. The system supports multiple languages
  • Voices vary in tone, pace, and accent -- choose one that matches the persona you want for your ad

Step 4 -- Generate

Once your script, avatar, and voice are configured:

  1. Click the Avatar UGC button at the bottom of the form
  2. The button will show a loading state ("Generating...") while the job is submitted
  3. Your generation job appears in the Generation Jobs list at the bottom of the modal

You do not need to keep the modal open. The generation runs in the background, and you can continue working on other tasks. When the video is ready, it will appear in the jobs list with a "Completed" status and a link to view or download the result.

Choosing an Avatar

The avatar you select affects how your audience perceives the ad. Consider these factors when choosing:

Match your target audience. If you are advertising a fitness product to young adults, an avatar that looks like a relatable peer will perform better than a corporate-looking spokesperson. Think about who your audience would trust to give them a recommendation.

Test multiple avatars. One of the key advantages of AI avatars is the ability to test variations cheaply. Generate the same script with two or three different avatars and let Meta's algorithm find the winner. This is the same split-testing logic you apply to ad copy and images -- extend it to your spokesperson.

Consider the context. Some avatars come with casual clothing and neutral backgrounds suitable for organic-looking UGC. Others may present a more professional appearance. Choose based on the platform placement and creative angle of your ad.

Avatar preview is not available before generation. Review the avatar name and description when selecting.

Writing Effective Scripts

Your script is the single most important factor in the quality of the final video. The avatar will faithfully deliver whatever you write, so the writing matters.

Keep it conversational

Write the way people actually talk, not the way brands write press releases. Use short sentences. Ask questions. Use "you" and "I" liberally. The whole point of UGC-style content is that it feels like a real person sharing their experience.

Good: "Okay so I have been using this for about three weeks now and honestly I was not expecting much. But my skin looks completely different."

Avoid: "Our revolutionary formula delivers clinically proven results for visibly improved skin texture and tone."

Hook in the first three seconds

Meta ads live or die by the hook. The first sentence needs to stop the scroll. Lead with a bold claim, a surprising fact, a question, or a pattern interrupt -- not with your brand name or a generic greeting.

Strong hooks:

  • "Stop wasting money on [category] that does not work."
  • "I almost did not buy this. Thank god I did."
  • "Nobody is talking about this trick for [benefit]."

Script length and video duration

The avatar speaks at a natural pace. As a rough guide:

Script length Approximate video duration
50-75 words 15-20 seconds
100-150 words 30-45 seconds
200-300 words 60-90 seconds

For Meta ads, the sweet spot is typically 15-45 seconds. Shorter videos tend to perform better for prospecting (top of funnel), while longer scripts work for retargeting audiences who already know your brand.

Use punctuation for pacing

The AI voice engine interprets punctuation to control pacing:

  • Periods create a natural pause between sentences
  • Commas create a shorter pause
  • Ellipses (...) create a dramatic pause -- useful before a big reveal
  • Question marks add natural rising intonation

Generation Time

Avatar video generation is not instant. The AI needs to render the avatar's facial movements, lip sync, gestures, and voice in a single cohesive video. Expect the following approximate timeline:

Stage Duration
Queued A few seconds
Processing (rendering) 2-10 minutes depending on script length
Upload and delivery Under 1 minute

Avatar generation typically takes several minutes. The system polls for completion automatically.

While the video is processing, you can:

  • Close the generation modal and continue working
  • Navigate to other pages in Wevion
  • Start additional generation jobs (they run in parallel)

Once complete, the finished video is automatically saved to your Creative Hub folder (if you had a folder open when you started the generation) and is available for download from the jobs list.

Credits and Cost

Avatar videos consume AI credits from your account balance. The cost is calculated based on the duration of the generated video, not the length of your script.

Each avatar video consumes credits based on the video length and complexity. Check your account settings for current pricing.

Check your current credit balance before generating, especially if you plan to create multiple variations. You can purchase additional credits from the Billing section of your account.

FAQ

Can I edit the video after it is generated? Not directly within Wevion. The avatar generator produces a finished MP4 video. If you need to add text overlays, transitions, or combine the avatar video with other footage, you can download the file and edit it in your preferred video editor, or use the Assemble feature (composite video) to layer multiple elements together.

What format and resolution are avatar videos? Videos are generated in 1080 x 1920 pixels (vertical 9:16 format) as MP4 files. This is optimized for Stories, Reels, and vertical feed placements on Meta platforms.

Can I generate avatar videos in languages other than English? Yes. The avatar generator supports multiple languages. Lip-sync accuracy may vary by language.

What happens if generation fails? If a job fails, it will show a "Failed" status in the jobs list with an error message. Common causes include extremely long scripts or temporary service issues. You are not charged credits for failed generations. Simply review the error, adjust your input if needed, and try again.

Can I use the same script with different avatars? Absolutely. This is one of the most effective ways to use avatars for ad testing. Write one strong script, generate it with multiple avatars, and run them as creative variations in your ad set to find the best-performing combination.

Where are my generated videos stored? Completed videos are stored in your Creative Hub. If you had a specific folder open when you started the generation, the video is saved there. You can also access all your generation history through the jobs list in the Generate Creative modal.

Is there a limit on how many avatar videos I can generate? There is no hard limit on the number of videos. Generation is limited only by your available AI credits. You can run multiple generation jobs at the same time.
