Generating AI Videos
Last updated: April 18, 2026
AI video generation lets you create short video clips directly inside Wevion's Creative Hub. Describe what you want in a text prompt, or provide an existing image as a starting frame, and Wevion's AI engines will produce a ready-to-use MP4 video saved automatically to your media library.
Instead of commissioning production shoots or searching stock libraries, you can generate a custom video in minutes and attach it to an ad immediately.
Prerequisites
- An active Wevion account with a valid subscription
- At least Media Buyer role or higher in your team
- Sufficient AI credits on your plan Understanding AI Credits
- For image-to-video: a source image in your Creative Hub or generated via AI Generating AI Images
Accessing the AI Video Generator
- Open Creative Hub from the main navigation sidebar.
- Click the magic wand icon to open the AI Generation panel.
- Select the Video tab.
Step-by-Step Guide
Text-to-Video: Creating a Video from a Prompt
Use this workflow when you want to create a video entirely from a written description.
Step 1: Write your prompt
Describe the scene you want: subject, environment, action, and visual style. Prompts can be up to 2,000 characters long.
Example:
A close-up of a woman applying skincare serum in a bright, minimalist bathroom. Soft natural light from a window. Camera slowly zooms in. Clean, editorial aesthetic.
Step 2: Choose your settings
| Setting | Options | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Engine | Multiple engines available | Luma Ray3 (selected by default) | See "Choosing an AI Engine" below |
| Duration | 2 to 10 seconds | 5 seconds | Longer durations consume more credits |
| Aspect Ratio | 16:9 (landscape), 9:16 (vertical), 1:1 (square) | 9:16 | Choose based on your target placement |
Step 3: Generate
Click Generate. Wevion submits your job and creates a job entry with Pending status. You do not need to keep the page open.
Step 4: Wait for completion
The job progresses through these stages:
- Pending — Request received, queued for processing
- Processing — AI engine is generating your video
- Completed — Video saved to Creative Hub
- Failed — Error occurred (see error message for details)

Step 5: Find your video
Once completed, the MP4 appears in your Creative Hub folder. Preview it, rename it, move it, or attach it to a campaign — just like any other file.
Image-to-Video: Animating an Existing Image
Use this workflow when you have a strong visual — a product photo, lifestyle shot, or AI-generated image — and want to bring it to life with motion. Particularly useful for:
- Turning a high-performing static ad into a video ad
- Animating product images with panning, zooming, or environmental effects
- Creating video variations of AI images generated in Wevion Generating AI Images
Step 1: Select your source image
In the Video tab, click the image input field to browse your Creative Hub and select the image you want to animate.
Step 2: Write a motion prompt
Describe the motion you want. You do not need to describe the image itself — the AI can see it. Focus on what should move and how.
Example:
Slow zoom into the product. A gentle breeze moves the model's hair. Soft particles float in the background light.
Step 3: Configure and generate
Choose your engine, duration, and aspect ratio, then click Generate. The job follows the same asynchronous pipeline as text-to-video.
Choosing an AI Engine
Wevion offers multiple AI video engines, each with different visual styles, speeds, and credit costs. General guidelines:
- Default engine — Good balance of quality, speed, and cost for most ad creative scenarios.
- High-fidelity engines — Prioritize photorealistic output at higher credit cost.
- Fast engines — Generate quicker; useful for testing concepts before committing to a premium render.
- Image-to-video — Some engines handle image animation better than others. Try two or three with the same source image to compare.
The engine selector shows engine names without recommendation labels. Choose based on the style and capability descriptions in the table above.
There is no universally "best" engine. We recommend experimenting with the same prompt across different engines to find the best fit for your campaign.
Generation Time Expectations
Video generation typically takes 1 to 5 minutes — significantly longer than image generation. Key factors:
| Factor | Impact |
|---|---|
| Duration | 10-second clips take roughly twice as long as 5-second clips |
| AI Engine | Speed varies significantly between engines |
| Queue load | Peak usage may add queue wait time |
Generation is fully asynchronous. You can continue working in Wevion while your video processes in the background.
Monitoring Status
Track your jobs from the AI Jobs panel in Creative Hub. Filter by type (Video) or status (Pending, Processing, Completed, Failed). Click any job for full details: prompt, engine, duration, and timestamps.
If a job fails, the error message explains why. Common causes: invalid prompts, temporary engine outages, or insufficient credits. Retry with the same or adjusted settings.

Tips for Better Video Prompts
Be specific about the scene. Describe subject, setting, lighting, and camera angle.
- Weak: "Show a shoe"
- Strong: "A white running shoe rotating on a matte grey surface. Studio lighting with soft shadows. Camera orbits slowly at a low angle. Minimal product shot."
Describe the motion explicitly. Without motion cues, you may get a near-static result.
- Weak: "A beach at sunset"
- Strong: "Waves rolling onto a sandy beach at golden hour. Camera slowly pans right along the shoreline. Warm, cinematic color grading."
Specify the visual style. Terms like "cinematic," "editorial," "hyperrealistic," or "neon-lit" help the engine match a specific aesthetic.
Keep it focused. A 5-second clip conveys one idea. For multi-scene narratives, generate individual clips and combine them with the composite video feature.
Use aspect ratio strategically:
| Aspect Ratio | Best For |
|---|---|
| 9:16 (vertical) | Stories, Reels, full-screen mobile |
| 16:9 (landscape) | In-stream video, desktop feed |
| 1:1 (square) | Feed placements, mobile and desktop |
Iterate. Generate two or three variations with slightly different wording. The credit cost of experimentation is far lower than the performance cost of a mediocre creative.
FAQ
Q: How long can generated videos be? A: Between 2 and 10 seconds. The default is 5 seconds — well-suited for Stories, Reels, and feed placements.
Q: What format are generated videos? A: MP4, the standard format for Meta ads, supported across all placements.
Q: How many credits does a video cost? A: It depends on the engine and duration. Longer videos and premium engines cost more. Understanding AI Credits
Q: Can I generate a video from an AI image I created in Wevion? A: Yes. Generate an image first Generating AI Images, then use it as the source for image-to-video.
Q: Where does the generated video go? A: It is saved automatically to your Creative Hub folder as an MP4 file. If you specified a destination folder, it appears there; otherwise it goes to your root folder.
Q: Can I edit the video after generation? A: Wevion does not include a built-in video editor. You can download the MP4, edit externally, and re-upload. You can also combine clips using the composite video feature.
Q: What if the result does not match my prompt? A: Refine your prompt, try a different engine, or generate multiple variations. See the "Tips for Better Video Prompts" section above.
Q: Can I cancel a processing job? A: Jobs in the Processing state cannot be cancelled. Failed jobs do not consume credits. Credits are charged only upon successful generation.
Q: Is there a limit on simultaneous generations? A: There is no hard limit on simultaneous video jobs. You can submit multiple requests as independent background jobs. The practical limit is your available credits.
