Transferring Workspace Ownership

Workspace ownership determines who controls billing, team management, and overall platform settings. This article explains how ownership transfer works in Wevion.

Prerequisites

  • Current workspace Owner role
  • The receiving user must already be a member of the workspace

How It Works

Each Wevion workspace has exactly one Owner. The Owner is the user who created the workspace and holds the Stripe subscription. Ownership cannot be shared between multiple users.

Ownership transfer is a significant action that moves the following responsibilities to the new Owner:

  • Billing and subscription — The new owner takes over payment responsibility
  • Team management — The ability to invite, deactivate, and impersonate team members
  • Data visibility — Access to all team members' data and reports
  • Plan limits — Resource quotas are tied to the owner's subscription

The transferring user becomes a Media Buyer after the transfer, retaining access only to their own data.

Step-by-Step Guide

Requesting an Ownership Transfer

Ownership transfer is available as a self-service feature. Navigate to Settings > Team > Transfer Ownership.

  1. Go to Settings > Team > Transfer Ownership
  2. Select the team member you want to transfer ownership to
  3. Confirm the transfer
  4. You'll receive a confirmation email when the transfer is complete

FAQ

Can I transfer ownership to someone outside my team? No. The receiving user must already be a member of your workspace. Invite them first, then request the transfer.

Will my data be deleted after the transfer? No. Your data (campaigns, ad accounts, reports) is preserved. You become a Media Buyer with access to your own data.

Does the new owner need to set up billing? The subscription and payment details transfer automatically to the new owner. The new owner inherits the existing subscription and billing setup.

Can the transfer be reversed? Yes, by contacting support again. The same process applies in reverse.

What about the subscription? Will there be a billing gap? The support team coordinates the transfer to ensure no service interruption. The existing subscription is transferred or a new one is set up for the new owner.
