Rule Templates — Pre-built Automations
Last updated: April 18, 2026
Rule templates are ready-made automation configurations that you can use as a starting point for your own rules. Instead of building conditions and actions from scratch, templates give you a proven setup that you can customize to match your specific needs.
Prerequisites
- Access to the Rules section in Wevion.
- At least one connected and synced Meta ad account.
Introduction to Rules — Automate Your Ad Management
How It Works
Wevion includes a library of pre-built rule templates created by advertising experts. Each template comes with:
- A name and description explaining what it does
- Pre-configured entity level (campaign, ad set, or ad)
- Pre-set conditions with recommended metrics, operators, and thresholds
- Pre-selected actions with appropriate parameters
- A category for easy browsing (e.g., cost control, scaling, performance)
When you create a rule from a template, Wevion copies the template's configuration into a new rule under your account. The rule is created in paused status, giving you the chance to review and adjust the settings before activating it.
Templates are ranked by popularity, so the most commonly used templates appear first.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Browse Available Templates
Navigate to Rules from the sidebar. Click Create Rule or look for the Templates section. You can filter templates by:
- Category — e.g., cost control, scaling, quality monitoring
- Entity level — campaign, ad set, or ad
2. Preview a Template
Click on a template to see its full configuration:
- What conditions it checks (e.g., "CPA > $30 over last 7 days")
- What actions it takes (e.g., "Decrease budget by 20%")
- What entity level it targets
- Recommended use cases and any important notes
3. Create a Rule from a Template
Click Use Template (or equivalent button). Wevion creates a new rule with all the template's settings pre-filled. You'll be taken to the rule editor where you can:
- Rename the rule to something meaningful for your workflow
- Adjust thresholds — the template's default values are starting points; your actual targets may differ
- Change the entity level if needed
- Select specific ad accounts to limit the rule's scope
- Modify the schedule interval to match your monitoring needs
- Tweak protection settings (cooldown, max executions per day)
4. Preview Before Activating
Before turning on your template-based rule, use the Preview feature to see which entities currently match the conditions. This lets you verify the thresholds are appropriate for your account's performance.

5. Activate When Ready
Once you're satisfied with the configuration, toggle the rule from Paused to Active. The rule will begin evaluating on its scheduled interval.
Options and Configuration
Template Categories
Templates are organized by their primary purpose:
| Category | Description | Example Templates |
|---|---|---|
| Cost Control | Prevent overspending | Pause campaigns exceeding CPA target, reduce budget on high CPM |
| Scaling | Grow winning campaigns | Increase budget on high-ROAS campaigns, activate paused winners |
| Performance | Monitor quality metrics | Alert on low CTR, pause campaigns with zero conversions |
| Budget Management | Optimize spend allocation | Balance daily budget pacing, cap lifetime budget usage |
Template categories and names may evolve as the team adds new automations.
Customizing After Creation
Every aspect of a template-created rule is fully editable:
- Add or remove conditions
- Change operators and values
- Add additional actions
- Modify entity filters (name contains/excludes, status filter)
- Adjust all schedule and protection settings
The template is just the starting point — your customized rule is completely independent of the original template.
Template vs. Duplicate
- Template = create a new rule from a pre-built industry recipe
- Duplicate = copy an existing rule you've already configured
Use templates when starting fresh; use duplicate when you want a variation of a rule that's already working well for you.
FAQ
Q: Can I create my own templates? A: Currently, templates are curated by the Wevion team. However, you can achieve a similar effect by duplicating an existing rule that works well and adjusting it for different accounts or scenarios.
Q: Do templates update automatically if Wevion improves them? A: No. Once you create a rule from a template, it's an independent copy. Changes to the template won't affect your existing rule.
Q: Which template should I start with? A: If you're new to automation, start with a simple Pause on high CPA or Alert on zero conversions template. These are low-risk (pausing or notifying only) and help you learn how rules behave before moving to budget-changing automations.
Q: Are templates available for all entity levels? A: Most templates target campaigns (the most common level), but templates for ad sets and ads are also available. Use the entity level filter to find templates specific to your needs.
